Description | Gold Lake 4X4 trail is a beautiful trail that offers access to a network of other moderate-difficult OHV trails in addition to wonderful hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. I went in mid July and it was pretty busy at the campground on Gold Lake, but was able to find a spot all to myself at little Gold Lake. From Gold Lake, I hiked to Snake and Little Deer lake which took a few hours but the swimming and views were excellent, especially at Little Deer Lake. Check with the forest service on conditions. When I hiked above Little Deer Lake in mid July the trail was still blocked by about three feet of snow. |
